Sat. Arrival in Pula, Croatia.
Today you'll arrive in Croatia, head towards the harbour to get on the boat and get everything ready to set sail tomorrow.
Day 1. Pula – Cres (36 Nautical miles, ca. 6 hours sailing)
The first two days are also the toughest. But fine to do with a motorboat. From Pula, sail along the southern coast and around the tip of Istria, crossing east to the long island of Cres. The town of the same name is located here in a beautiful cove of the island. The region of Istria and Cres is still very Venetian-oriented.
Day 2. Cres – Krk (36Nm, 6h)
Cruise around the northern tip of the island Cres and back along the coastlines from Cres or Krk to the town of Krk or nearby Punat. Both are very nice towns. One slightly bigger than the other.
Day 3. Krk or Punat – Rab (22Nm, 4h)
Today you can sail towards the island of Rab and to the northern town of Lopar, or Rab which is on the south coast. Lopar is more of a resort town and Rab is a city.
Day 4. Rab – Veli or Mali Losinj (22Nm, 4h)
Sail south to Mali Losinj or Veli Losinj. Both are picturesque cities. Mali is larger than Veli and has become increasingly popular due to tourism. Although, 'Veli' means big and 'Mali' means small, the roles have been reversed and the names never changed.
Day 5. Mali Losinj - Osor (18Nm, 3h)
Sail around the southern tip of Cres past the islands of Srakane and Unije to Osor, which sits on the channel that separates the islands of Cres and Losinj. The bridge opens twice a day to allow yachts to pass through the canal. This is at 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Keep this in mind when arriving and departing tomorrow.
Day 6. Osor – Pula (25Nm, 5h)
Make the crossing back to the mainland in the direction of Pula. Pomer and other nice bays lie in front of Pula in a cove between (peninsula) islands.
Day 7. Check-out
After enjoying Pula for a while and an overnight stay in the harbor or possibly a hotel, you check out the yacht today and head back home.
